A fresh look for Matthews Media Ltd

I know It’s already May, but I finally found time to work on my own website. Recently all I’ve been doing is working for my company, not on my company.

I’m pleased with the end result, it’s not perfect, but I think it’s better than the old design. I’ve made the site more colourful and visual, for example:

  • The homepage now has a full width slider. Designed to direct people to the relevant interior pages, rather than expecting everyone to read the homepage content.
  • Homepage content separated and laid out better. I split “What I do” and “How I work” into 2 columns. It makes it more appealing for viewers to read, instead of a huge page of text.
  • Display some key selling points. I’ve put 4 key selling points into columns, to make them stand out compared to having details buried in the content.
  • Bigger portfolio. The 4 portfolio samples on the homepage are much bigger than on the previous design. I want people to see the work I can do, not just read about me.

I’m also looking forward to the results, see how it compares to the old design. It’ll be interesting to see if investing time to improve my own site pays off in the long run.
